Which paints should i use?

I'm planning on painting on a clear plastic case for my boyfriend's Nintendo 3DS game system. What kind of paint do i use? and if the game gets a little heated and warm will it mess up the paint, also since it is a clear case should i paint on the outside like normal or the inside so that it will be behind the plastic? please help!
