Did i win a sweepstakes?

It's probably a scam. I'd be very careful if you ever get to talk to them. Do not give them any personal info. Do not send any money for them to release your other money. You say the check is real.....how do you know? If you do get it deposited don't spend any til your bank assures you it has cleared.....a few weeks to be sure!!!! I know banks say you can have your money in a few days but with scamming checks it can take a couple weeks before it gets back to your bank that it was a fake.
