Can you meet bands at concerts without backstage passes?

at smaller shows its not too hard... wait around after and go around to the back of the venue if you can. idk what your venue is like, but at the one's ive been to there was parking in the back and you had to go through their trailers to get there. (at different shows ive got to meet a few members of For Today, Motionless in White, The Crimson Armada and several other even smaller bands)
